4th of July cocktails.

A thin slice of jalapeno or serrano pepper adds a fiery kick to this tequila-based cocktail, which gets it's pretty colors from cranberry juice, watermelon schnapps, and blue curacao.

Strawberry schnapps, vodka, and club soda make up this sweet & fizzy afternoon drink. Add a skewer of blueberries for a splash of blue!

• 1 1/2 cups lemonade
• 1/2 cup fresh mint

This pretty drink gets it's striped look from a layer of blue HPNOTIQ Liqueur topped with a red layer made from strawberry puree, dark rum, coconut milk, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, and crushed ice.

5. Red, White, and HPNOTIQ Blue Martini
Blue liqueur and grenadine give this citrus vodka-based martini it's patriotic flair. Garnished coconut adds a touch of white!

Sweet Home Alabama

Mack: How cute is she? CMT's point exactly! Her name is Devin Grissom and she an Alabama student soon to be  featured on CMT's new reality dating show, Sweet Home Alabama. The show is set to premiere on Thursday, July 14th at 8pm.  The concept includes 10 city slickers and 10 country gents fighting for Grissom's heart.  I love the concept. Click here to see the entire article.

AL.com:
Today, CMT announced the names of the 20 bachelors -- 10 so-called "city slickers" and 10 "country" guys -- and the name of the Southern belle whose heart they are trying to win.

She's Devin Grissom, a student at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Raised in Cordova, Tenn., Devin "considers herself a Southern belle who values and respects the traditions of the South," according to CMT's news release. The show's publicists go on to say: "A huge sports fan, Devin spends her Saturdays in the fall watching SEC football games and hopes to pursue a public relations career in professional sports. Devin’s parents were high school sweethearts, still married for 34 years, and she aspires to have a relationship like theirs and settle down at a young age."

Thanks for keeping me posted Allyson! I can't wait to watch!

Shake it like a polaroid picture.

Just B had a great idea for iPhone photos but I think it would be awesome if you used polaroids!  It also helps that I love everything about this space, luxurious cream couch, british pop pillow, marble coffee table, exposed brick, modern white side table... damn, rooms got it going on.

Caroline's turkey burgers.

Caroline introduced me to turkey burgers and I am addicted. Addicted as in I have ate them 3 three times in the last 7 days kind of addicted.  Please. Try. This. Recipe.

Ingredients:
1 apple
1 white onion
1 lb of lean turkey meat
1 cup mayo
1 fresh garlic clove
Fresh oregano
Dale's

Directions:
Chop about 3 springs of fresh oregano and add to one cup mayo. Press one clove of garlic and add about half to mayo mixture.  I like to prepare mine at least 30 minutes prior so you get all the flavors.

Dice apple and 1/2 onion and add to turkey meat. Mix together with hands and make meat into patties. Sprinkle Dale's over turkey burgers. Grill and serve as normal burgers but make sure to use the incredible mayonnaise. It's makes the burger!

Passions on top of passions.

Talk about passions on top of passions.  This couple was photographed during the Stanley Cup riot. Crazy, but I love it.

"Thomas had been knocked over by one of the policemen's shields, and Jones got down in the street to comfort her, his father Brett Jones told the Toronto Star on Friday.
Scott Jones, 29, is an aspiring actor and native of Austrailia who recently moved to Vancouver.
The elder Jones had spoken to his son since the iconic photograph was taken Wednesday night, in the midst of riots that took over downtown Vancouver after the Canucks lost the series' deciding game to the Boston Bruins.
“I don’t think he’s come to grips with it. The full force of it is going to hit him (Friday)," Brett Jones said.
The image, captured by Vancouver photographer Rich Lam, was picked up by countless media outlets and blew up on social networks on Thursday morning.

Scott’s sister, Hannah, first identified her brother to an Australian news network.
“It is something he would do, that's our boy,” Scott’s mother Marie told ninemsn in Australia. “He has always lived in his own world, he's special like that. He doesn’t always connect with what’s going on around him."
Almost 150 people required hospital treatment and close to 100 were arrested after the melees, according to authorities. Fifteen cars were burned as well, according to Vancouver police chief Jim Chu, who blamed 'criminals and anarchists' for inciting the situation.

Memory lane.

I love 1980's and 90's blogs. I took a little trip down memory lane and got a little carried away on I'm remembering.
