Have a relaxing weekend...

Still not 100% from my move out but I can't wait to relax in bed ALL WEEKEND wearing these cute jammies from J.Crew. Or some of these fun things below....

Watermelon feta salad.

Watermelon Salad with Feta, Olives, and Basil

6 cups watermelon, cut into cubes (roughly half a small watermelon)
1 1/2 cups Greek feta, rough chopped
1 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
1/4 cup basil leaves, cut chiffonade (tiny thin ribbons)
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Cut and prepare the ingredients for the salad. To mix the vinaigrette, whisk the balsamic into the olive oil until emulsified. 20 – 30 minutes before serving, toss the ingredients together and lightly dress the salad. Serve garnished with basil leaves.

Need - more - caffeine.

Well...Fins & Friends was yet again a blow out success. It's an understatement to call the field games anything but simply amazing and the Plato Jones rocked our socks Saturday night. Sunday came and I found myself with barely enough energy to eat a Depalmas pizza (but some how found the strength). Monday morning was tough as expected but like this cute little lady I'm getting by on plenty of caffeine.

DIY art.

DIY art. This kind of stuff is SO easy.

The first picture is torn pieces of colored construction paper. I mean seriously?

The second consists of acrylic or oil paint (even oil crayons) and scribbling away.  Smaller pictures are often easier and more budget friendly. I'm making one to add a pop of color to a book shelf.

Walmart has great cheap frames for this type of project.

Traveling Daria.

I have been obsessed with these images after Pleats and Peonies posted them the other day.  I immediately imagined myself sailing the seven seas and becoming some sort of marine biologist number or National Geographic journalist.  Why not, right?   Well if you want to look like Daria, the super model, while you travel take Tomboy Style's advice and get the look below.

Recap of the 4th.

A few recap shots from the fourth! We went to Destin for the fourth which included festive fire cracker cookies (recipe), perfectly plaid tops, fabulous party favors donated by Blakely, fresh Red Snapper (caught by yours truly) and William's pet goldfish, Cupid. He goes with us every where (complete with tiki umbrella). The photos are a result of Instagram experimentation.
