Hello, cupcake.

I just found out about this cookbook, Hello, Cupcake.  It gives step by step instructions on how to make the most unique cupcakes. My favorite is the last - a TV dinner. Or maybe the aliens in space ships.  This would be a fun kitchen shower or hostess gift along side a fun cakestand!

Spring Colors.

No. 1. Essie in Island Hopping. I like it because it reminds me of OPI's You Don't know Jacques but with more purple-plum for spring.
No.2. OPI in Mr. and Mrs.Mimosa. An oldie but goodie. Kicks Bubble bath's butt.
No.3. Watercolor by Belle Foster.
No 4. Tan Towels. Thank you Jesus for bringing these little things into my life. New best friend. I bought the light-medium, full body and only used it for an hour and a half (directions say 2 to 4) but it worked perfect.
No. 5. Chanel in Insolence.  It's the first lip gloss I really like (I'm a lipstick lady).
No.6. Posie Tent in Peony.  It's my go to make-up when I want to look like I'm not wearing make-up.

I love anything ikat print.   The photos above are of a headboard I made for my room. It was so much fun! The pillows are an Ebay find - two  pillow cases for $25. Score.  These are just a few patterns - TONS are listed by typing "ikat pillows".

For all my garlic lovers.

How to: Roasted Garlic
You will need:
large heads of garlic
1/4 cup olive oil

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. Chop off the top quarter of the head of garlic (the pointy side) and place on a square of aluminum foil.

3. Pour olive oil over the fresh cut side, enough to cover. Fold the foil over the head to completely enclose it.

4. Bake for 30-35 minutes in an oven safe dish until garlic skins are golden brown and cloves are tender (you will know when it's ready if the garlic is soft inside when you insert a knife). Let cool. Squeeze garlic cloves from skins. You can use the garlic for pasta sauce, salad dressing, etc. or simply serve with warm fresh bread and olive oil (my personal fave.).

Mini loaded baked potatoes. (With Recipe)

Lacy asked me where I found this picture and unfortunately it was prior to my Mack. days and I did not save the source. However, I thought I would add my thoughts on how I would make this...

*** The original post still exists and is located in "Good Eats" but I wanted to let everyone know there is now a recipe! Frosting bags available @ Amazon.

Easter petit fours.

Okay, this week I have been slaving away in the test kitchen trying to perfect a petit four recipe in time for Easter. Caroline, Kenzie and I attempted the first batch, which tasted delicious, but I wasn't satisfied with the consistancy/taste of the icing. So yesterday I attempted my Easter petit fours agian (iphone picture above...which I can't believe I'm sharing) and LOVED my new icing recipe (the icing drys hard but needs to be doubled) but HATED my decorations.  Dont't waste your time or money on the icing pictured above.
So next week I will try again and hopefully enjoy the ENTIRE recipe enough to share on the blog. I am thinking instead of random dots as eggs, adding dyed green coconut flakes and dyeing the frosting pastels, cutting them into egg shaped cakes and decorating them to look like actual painted easter eggs (Mallory's idea....genious).  I also thought it would be fun to package my little "eggs" in boxes on top of easter basket grass. AH! Too excited about these little monsters but beware bunco group...you may be my first petit four victims!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

First and foremost I want to thank all my new followers! I'm loving the prizes and I can't wait to tell everyone more about it! I have been working with the fabulous team at Matt Clinton Designs and so far we have come up with some fun stuff!

More so, I am SOOO excited because my blog had 483 hits yesterday!! I know to some people this is child's play but to me and my 2 month blog it was so encouraging!!! Thank you so much to everyone who is reading Mack. If there are things I'm not including or you want a little more of this and little less of that... PLEASE TELL ME. haha. Anyways, I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone for looking, reading, or even mentioning my blog. Your kind words of encouragement mean everything to me.

This calls for thanks and celebration!!!

 (Thanks)
&

Magically tents.

Magically tents... The first two pictures are from Olivia's tent in The Holiday. Fantastic movie. I honestly can't decide which house I love more.  I mean the LA house and those black out shades...I know, I know, we all saw them.  But who doesn't want the world's cutest cottage tucked away in English countryside with a single Jude Law that's apart of the package. Tie.

Artichoke Bites.

Last night we celebrated Caroline and Brock's birthdays with a little gathering at Caroline and Lake's new digs (and I might add that the house is coming together beautifully).  I made Artichoke bites and as requested the recipe is as follows...

Artichoke Bites

1 {8 oz can} artichoke hearts, drained and finely chopped
1 cup {4 oz} shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3/4 envelope of Italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 ready-made pizza crust

Preheat oven to 400°. Place artichokes, shredded Cheddar, mayonnaise, salad dressing, and Parmesan together in large bowl and mix well. Spread evenly over the pizza crust. Bake for 15-20 minutes until hot and bubbly. Let cool and cut into bite-size pieces.

**For those of you that have not had artichoke bites they're like mini pizza bites and SUPER easy. I try to make the spread in the morning and 20 or 30 minutes before the party spread, heat and serve.
